LEXINGTON — The Lexington Moose Lodge 2511 presented Love Our Hero’s Inc. a check for $3,697.48 on Friday, a donation generated by the organization’s annual golf fundraiser.
There were 17 teams participating in the outing, planned and coordinated by Bob Mahan, Deb Stevenson, Mike Laliberte, Tom Magistro, and Mindy Dumbeck.
Chris Davis and Scott Gossett provided the meal back at the lodge after the outing.
Love Our Hero’s was founded in 2019 by Tami Robinson to assist local military veterans. The organization provides assistance with rent, utilities, food and other resources. Most recipients are referred by the VA’s Mansfield Community Based Outpatient Clinic on Trimble Road.
Since inception, Love Our Hero’s has helped more than 420 local veterans and provided more than $176,000 in assistance.
Love Our Hero’s can be found tucked back in by the bike trail in Bellville at 24 Bell St. It operates a thrift store fueled by donations to help meet their mission of providing services, and are open Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
