David M. Simmons, 45
David M. Simmons, 45 of Ashland passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 in the Ohio State University Medical Center following an extended illness.
He was born on August 5, 1980 in Shelby, Ohio the son of Mitch Simmons and Brenda Kay Hoffman.
Throughout his life, David enjoyed watching movies, playing scrabble and bingo. He was a big sports fan, but most of all loved his Lord and Savior.
He is survived by mother, Brenda (Ben Wilford) Weitzel of Ashland; his father, Mitch (Karen) Simmons of Wadsworth; his maternal grandfather, Jerry Hoffman of Ashland; his paternal grandmother, Leah Simmons of Mansfield; five siblings, Darla (Grayson) Smith of Ashland, Heather (Jonathan) Cline of Ashland, Courtney (Jonathan) Cooper of Omaha, Nebraska, Brittany (Jay Feldman) Simmons of Ashland, and Jared (Hannah Reed) Lotts of Ashland; his nieces and nephews, Kaylan, Justin, Araiya, Brennan, Avery, Brielle, Emilia, Ethan, Peyton, Levi, Jackson, and Canyon.
David is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Diane Hoffman; his paternal grandfather, J.H. Simmons; and best friend Beau Roberts.
A Celebration of David’s life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Ashland Eagle’s Aerie 2178, 400 Eastlake Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
