ASHLAND — Friday night of the 2025 Ashland BalloonFest brought live music, local food, glowing balloons, and a crowd ready to celebrate — despite the skies not fully cooperating.

Although balloons did not take to the skies, they remained inflated and on display for a static glow — offering visitors a chance to experience the sights and sounds of BalloonFest up close.

The scheduled balloon launch was delayed due to upper-level wind conditions that exceeded the threshold for safe flying.

“Safety is our top priority,” organizers posted on the event’s official Facebook page. “While the skies may look beautiful, unstable air and convective weather in the area make it unsafe for flight.”

The event continues through Saturday, June 29, with mass balloon launches planned each morning and evening (weather permitting). Additional highlights include:

  • Kids’ Fun Zone and inflatables
  • Craft and business vendors
  • Food trucks and concessions
  • Live entertainment each night
  • Fireworks on Saturday to close out the weekend

Admission is free, though parking donations support local organizations. Visitors are encouraged to check the Ashland Balloonfest Facebook page or official website for weather updates and schedule changes.

Balloonfest is organized by Ashland Balloonfest Inc. and supported by dozens of local sponsors and volunteers each year.
