Loretta Jean Sampsel, 81, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Arbors at Mifflin nursing home. Loretta was born in Galion to the parents of late Leroy and Lilly (Baldinger) Sipe on October 16, 1943.

Loretta was not just a homemaker; she excelled in her role in the healthcare industry as a housekeeper, where her dedication and attention to detail made a lasting impact. An avid crafter, she will be remembered for her knitting, crocheting, and quilting skills. Her knitting needles were never far from her side, and she loved to pass her knowledge and passion on to others, inspiring family and friends alike with her patience and enthusiasm.

In her leisure time, you could often find Loretta curled up with a good book, diving into new worlds and stories. Her intelligence and thirst for knowledge were evident in every story she shared and every stitch she made. She embodied the spirit of generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a laugh.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband Franklyn Sampsel, sons Clayton (Pamela) Sampsel, of Lucas, Forrest Sampsel, of FL, grandson Franklyn Sampsel, of Lucas, and many dear friends and family who were fortunate enough to know her.
