MANSFIELD — No need to bring snacks and drinks to Mansfield City Council on Tuesday evening.
Unless something changes, local lawmakers may be done in time to get back home and settle in comfortably for televised conference finals in the NBA and NHL, as well as the Cleveland Guardians at Minnesota Twins baseball game.
There are just three pieces of legislation on City Council’s agenda, none of which appear to be controversial enough to stir a great deal of debate among lawmakers.
Here are the three bills on the agenda:
— accepting and appropriating $27,506.01 in “unanticipated forfeiture revenue” by the Mansfield Police Department for use by the department, including the METRICH Enforcement Unit.
— authorizing a “then and now” payment of $4,200 to the Baker, Dublikar law firm. The city Law Director’s office contracted in November 2024 with the firm to assist with a Mansfield Planning Commission case before submitting a purchase order with the Finance Department.
— authorizing the city to accept a $1,000 donation from the Wal-Smart Smart Food Program to be used by the MPD Neighborhood Impact Section.
City Council caucus is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. with the legislative session following immediately thereafter.
Local lawmakers continue to meet in Mansfield Municipal Courtroom 1, while council chambers is being renovated. Residents planning to attend should park in the upper lot off Park Avenue and enter through the Park Avenue entrance.
