Mary Louise Bessinger, 77, of Galion, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025. Mary was born to the late Louise and Mary (Butcher) Wargo in Pikeville, KY.

Mary graduated from Ontario High School and furthered her education by earning her LPN in 1968. She worked as an LPN while continuing school to receive her RN, all while working and raising her family. Mary proudly graduated from North Central State College as a Registered Nurse, dedicating 42 years of her life to Med Central-Mansfield. Her compassion and dedication to her patients were evident to all who knew her, and she touched countless lives throughout her career.

An active member of the Crossroads Church in Mansfield, Mary found joy in her faith and the community she built there. Her warm spirit extended beyond the church, as she enjoyed being around people and was known for her sociable and friendly nature. Mary was a valued member of two knitting clubs, where she shared her talents and formed lasting friendships.

Mary’s love for life shone through in her passions. She was an animal lover who could often be found tending to her yard in her spare time. She also cherished motorcycle rides with her husband, Bill, enjoying the freedom of the open road. Most of all, Mary looked forward to spending time with her cherished grandchildren, Allison, Evan, and Maxwell, creating memories that will forever be etched in their hearts.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Billie Colley, of Sherman, IL; her son Jeff (Sarah) Bessinger, of Bucyrus; her grandchildren, Allison, Evan, and Maxwell Bessinger; her sister, Eva George and her nephew, Kit St. Clair. Mary left behind several close friends, Bonnie, JoAnne, Trisha, Sue, Brenda, Mary, and neighbors, Tank, Dreama, and Ralph.

Along with Mary’s parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings: Judy, Bette, Robert, and Marg.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville.

There was a joyful heavenly reunion when she reunited with her mom, dad, husband, and past family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society.
