Relda “Georgann” Frietchen, 76, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, at her daughter’s residence in Homer, MI.
Georgann was born in Crestline on December 5, 1948, to the late George and Lucy (Runions) Stone. She married Gerald “Jerry” Frietchen on May 4, 1974, and he preceded her in death on June 24, 2021. Georgann was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, and Mamaw who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Georgann grew up with a passion for education and a love for the arts. She graduated from Crestline High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in education from The Ohio State University. She furthered her studies by obtaining a master’s degree from Ashland University, reflecting her dedication to fostering knowledge in the younger generations.
An active and cherished member of the ladies at Calvary Baptist Church of Shelby, Georgann was known for her warm spirit and generosity. She frequently hosted church parties at her home, offering her musical talents by playing the piano and creating an inviting atmosphere for friends and family alike.
Georgann also had a flair for baking and proudly crafted beautiful wedding cakes for countless joyful occasions. She poured her love into everything she did, leaving a sweet and lasting legacy.
She is survived by her loving son Kurt (Amber) Frietchen and her devoted daughter Tori (Joel) Jernigan, and her six grandchildren, Rylee, Lauren, Anthony, Braden, Olivia, and Lilly..
In addition to his parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Ken Stone and Frank Stone.
Friends may call on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 1:00 PM until the time of funeral services at 2:00 PM, at the Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main St., Crestline, with Pastor Steven Schag officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
