FINDLAY — Naomi Gearheart is headed back to state.
Crestview’s sophomore 145-pounderpinned Keystone’s Sage O’Brien in the second period to claim her second district championship in as many years Sunday at Findlay High School.
Gearheart advances to next week’s state tournament at Ohio State’s Schottenstein Center. She finished fifth at state in the 155-pound class last year.
Gearheart was one of three north central Ohio girls wrestlers to earn repeat state berths at Findlay. Mapleton’s Taren Kramer and Skylar Hopstetter both qualified for the state tournament for a second straight year.
A senior, Kramer reached the championship match at 140 pounds before falling to Alliance’s Adilyn Mozden. Hopstetter, a junior, finished fourth at 145.
Madison’s Estella Koppert just missed out on a state qualifying bid. The junior finished fifth at 140.
