BUCYRUS — Authorities seized $29,851 on Wednesday when a search warrant was executed at an alleged illegal casino on the city’s southwest side, according to Bucyrus police.
Chief Neil Assenheimer said his officers assisted agents with the Ohio Casino Control Commission in a raid at the Golden Genie Gaming establishment at 1655 Marion Road.
“The search warrant was the culmination of an investigation conducted by OCCC and Bucyrus police detectives into an illegal casino,” Assenheimer said.
The business is located inside the Southern Lights Shopping Center.

The chief said evidence of illegal gaming was seized, along with the cash.
“No arrests were made, however cases against any involved individuals may be presented to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of charges,” Assenheimer said.
The Bucyrus Fire Department assisted at the scene, according to the chief.
According to the Ohio Casino Control Commission website, the agency is responsible for maintaining the integrity of casino gaming, sports gaming, skill-based amusement machines and fantasy contests.
