Marty D. Hildebrand, age 81 of Ontario, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Grant Medical Center. He was born on March 18, 1943, in Mansfield to the late Kermit and Esther (Zellner) Hildebrand, and on June 24, 2000, he married the love of his life, Carole A. (Zeigler).
Marty was a wonderful husband and father. He was a retired Army man with 26 years of service under his belt, and he was very loved. He enjoyed watching sport car races, Ohio State and Browns sports, fishing, and watching cowboy shows.
He and his wife enjoyed 26 wonderful years together, 24 of them married. They loved to go for long rides all over Ohio.
As a young child, he joined the Junior Deputies, and more recently, he was a member of the Lion’s Club of Ontario.
He leaves behind his loving wife Carole A. Hildebrand; his daughter Anita Carter; his son Marty K. Hildebrand; his stepson Brent A. King; his grandsons David (Nia) Hildebrand and Timmy Carter; his sisters Carol Jackson, Joni Goldsmith, Janet (Ed) Ohl, Diane Seifert, and Becky Shipman; his sisters-in-law Sandy Pierce and Rowena Santolucito; his brother-in-law Clay (Norma) Davis; and several nephews, nieces, and great-grandchildren.
Those that have gone before him include his parents Kermit and Esther Hildebrand; his son Jon White; his brothers-in-law Jim Goldsmith and George Jackson; his brother Gary L. Zeigler; his niece Carol Lynn Rose; and his nephew Kim Jackson.
Services will take place on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Burial will take place at a later date.
