Maude L. Hedge, age 78 of Mansfield, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital. She was born on July 23, 1946, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, to the late Elwood and Pauline (Butler) Binion, and she married her beloved husband Raymond Hedge on June 11, 1966. He preceded her in death on August 1, 2021.
Maude graduated from Olive Hill High School in 1964, and she went on to spend 25 years working as a housekeeper at Mansfield General Hospital. She was a longtime member of Walker Lake Baptist Church. She was also an excellent cook and candymaker, and she held a deep love for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her son Shannon R. (Erica) Hedge; her brothers- and sisters-in-law Anna K. Guy, James (Kay) Hedge, Larry (Brenda) Hedge, and David Sturgill; her aunt Mamie Lou Carroll; her cousins Regina and Bryant Carroll and Brenda Moseby; her nieces and nephews Terry (Karlyn) Stamper, Debbie (Mark) Hoffman, Danny (Donna) Stamper, Frank (Lisa) Guy, David Guy, Carol (Todd) Whitmer, William (Kim) Guy, Glen (Sheila) Hedge, Michael Hedge, Patty (Doug) Perry, Matthew (Charolet) Hedge, Theresa (Mark) Hanshaw, Jason Hedge, Dwight (Rose) Sturgill, and Tim (Tonya) Sturgill; her best friends Darlene Dillman and Ev Simmons; and many close neighbors and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Elwood and Pauline Binion, as well as her beloved grandmother “Old Maude” Collins; her daughter and son-in-law Paula Sue and Mike Reedy; her brothers- and sisters-in-law Alice Sturgill, Cleda Rae (Earl Leo) Stamper, Frank Guy, and Glen (Betty) Hedge; her cousin Linda Kiser; and her lifelong best friend Shirley Bond.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 pm at Mansfield Cemetery.
