MANSFIELD — A Mansfield man was sentenced Oct. 23 to 30 months in prison by Richland County Common Pleas Judge Brent Robinson, according to court records.
Clyde Hoffer, 42, of Mansfield, caused a crash July 22, 2022 by passing on a yellow line, while also driving on a suspended license, according to local media.
The crash’s victim, Nancy Everly, 73, of Crestline, died two weeks after the crash.
Hoffer received a 30-month prison sentence for vehicular homicide and an amended charge of vehicular assault. Both charges are fourth-degree felonies.
A second-degree misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter charge was dismissed.
Hoffer was granted 32 days of jail credit for time already served at the Richland County Sheriff’s Office. Robinson ordered him to make $1,303.98 in restitution and suspended his license for five years, according to court records.

— Doug Palmer, 46, received two concurrent six-month prison sentences for possession of cocaine and possessing criminal tools. Two forfeiture specifications were dismissed. Palmer’s two sentences are to be served consecutively with a seperate, current sentence. He was ordered to pay $40 to the Mansfield Police Department crime lab. Palmer was granted three days of jail credit for time already served at the Richland County Sheriff’s Office and is subject to up to two years of post-release control.

— Xvaion Jones, 38, was sentenced to 36 months of community control for four charges; trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound (2 counts) and possession of a fentanyl-related compound (2 counts). Jones was ordered to pay $80 to the MPD crime lab and is subject to up to two years of post-release control.
— Cory Black, 43, was sentenced to eight to 12 years of mandatory prison time for felonious assault, to be served consecutive to post-release control time. Black’s charge was also merged with a count of third-degree felony assault. He also received 18 months to three years of mandatory post-release control. Black was granted one day of jail credit for time already served at RCSO.
— Bradley Myers, 32, was accepted into Richland County Substance Abuse Treatment Court on Nov. 25. Myers was indicted on aggravated possession of drugs (3 counts) and tampering with evidence on April 18. Myers’ tampering with evidence charge was dismissed. His case has been transferred to SATC for all further proceedings.
— Cody Butler, 33, was sentenced to pay supervision fees to the Richland County Probation Department and a fine of $500 for first-degree misdemeanor receiving stolen property.
— Maurice Christian, 37, was sentenced to eight years and 11 months in prison for eight counts; attempted aggravated possession of drugs, attempted aggravated trafficking in drugs, attempted possession of heroin, attempted trafficking in heroin, possession of a fentanyl-related compound, trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound, having weapons while under disability and possessing a defaced firearm. Other charges were dismissed as part of a negotiated plea bargain, according to court records. Christian must also forfeit a handgun to the State of Ohio. He was granted 238 days of jail credit for time already served at RCSO.
— Andrea Reynolds, 40, received 48 months of community control for possession of cocaine (2 counts). Reynolds was ordered to pay $80 to the MPD crime lab and is subject to up to two years of post-release control.
— David Werntz, 20, was sentenced to 36 months in prison for grand theft when the property is a firearm or dangerous ordnance, to be served consecutive to a 12-month sentence for improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and an 11-month sentence for aggravated possession of drugs. Werntz received an additional 11-month sentence, concurrent with his other 11-month stay, for possession of a controlled substance analog. He was granted two days of jail credit for time already served at RCSO and is subject to up to two years of post-release control.
— Melissa Ryder, 41, was sentenced to 120 days (reserve) / 30 months in prison for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Ryder must forfeit a 2010 Ford Focus to the State of Ohio and her driver’s license is suspended for 120 months. She was also fined $1,350. Ryder was granted 71 days of jail credit for time already served at RCSO and is subject to up to two years of post-release control.
— Dakota Kahl, 34, received two consecutive 12-month prison sentences for escape (2 counts). Kahl was granted 141 days of jail credit for time already served at RCSO and is subject to up to two years of post-release control.
— Ezra Becker, 25, was sentenced to three to four and a half in prison for second-degree felony robbery. Charges of aggravated robbery and misdemeanor theft were dismissed. Becker also received 18 months to three years of mandatory post-release control and was granted 134 days of jail credit for time already served at RCSO.
— Margaret Jensen, 45, received 36 months of community control for assault and public indecency. Jensen is subject to up to two years of post-release control.
— Felicia Blankenship, 32, was accepted into Richland County Substance Abuse Treatment Court on Nov. 21. Blankenship was indicted on possession of a fentanyl-related compound (2 counts) and aggravated possession of drugs on Jul. 25. Her case has been transferred to SATC for all further proceedings.
— Kaden Arangelovich, 21, received 30 months of community control for aggravated possession of drugs. Arangelovich was also accepted into Richland County Substance Abuse Treatment Court on Nov. 25 and is subject to up to two years of post-release control.
— Roger Burkepile, 69, was sentenced to 24 months of community control for possession of cocaine. Burkepile was ordered to pay $40 to the MPD crime lab and is subject to up to two years of post-release control.
— Michelle Chapman, 33, received 36 months of community control for tampering with evidence, possession of cocaine (2 counts) and obstructing official business. Chapman was ordered to pay $40 to the MPD crime lab and is subject to up to two years of post-release control.
— Corbin Brueche, 36, was sentenced to 30 months of community control, to be transferred to Coshocton County, for possession of a fentanyl-related compound (2 counts). Brueche was ordered to pay $120 to the MPD crime lab and is subject to up to two years of post-release control.
— Jessica Duty, 39, received 30 months of community control for aggravated possession of drugs. Duty is subject to up to two years of post-release control.
— Kayla Folk, 35, received 30 months of community control, to be transferred to Franklin County, for possession of L.S.D., including a forfeiture specification. Folk must forfeit $59 to the State of Ohio and pay $40 to the MPD crime lab. She is subject to up to two years of post-release control.
In a seperate case, Folk received 30 months of community control, also to be transferred to Franklin County, for receiving stolen property (2 counts) and petty theft. She was ordered to pay $383.70 in restitution to the case’s victim and is subject to up to two years of post-release control.
