Adam D. Risner, age 47of Mansfield, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, after a long battle with ALS. He was born on March 27, 1977, in Mansfield.
Adam graduated from Madison High School in 1995, and he went on to attend both The Ohio State University and North Central to study computer science and business. He worked as an IT specialist for Sutton Bank for over 20 years, and prior to that, he worked for Abbott Labs. Besides his interest in technology, Adam enjoyed riding and showing horses, and he practiced karate in his younger years. He was a devoted member of Faith Church. Above all else, he loved his children, and he did everything he could for them. He especially loved watching them play soccer. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his children Colton and Callie Risner; his mother and stepfather Patricia (Risner) and Matthew Janisch; his siblings Sarah (Phillip Machalek) Janisch, Joe (Krystal) Janisch, and Amy (David) Messersmith; his significant other and stepdaughter Krista and Aleah Thompson; his grandmother Jean Risner; his nieces and nephews Olivia, Alysandra, Ethan, Madison, Makenzi, Isabella, Emily, and Andrew; and numerous aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Dexter Risner.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Ave. E., Mansfield. Services will take place on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Franklin Church Cemetery.
