PLYMOUTH — Katie Veletean has lined up five hours of fall-filled fun near the end of October.
Enjoy fresh local products, pumpkins, produce, mums, baked and artisan goods, specialty foods and more Oct. 13 during the second annual Autumn in the Village.
The free, community-inspired gathering happens rain or shine from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Village Roots, 11 E. Main St. in Plymouth.
Veletean, co-owner of Village Roots, said the event is similar to a farmers market, but heavily focuses on fall favorites.
“Vendors are asked to come up with a product that’s fall-focused, whether it’s food related or a handcrafted good,” she said.
“Last year we kind of threw it together somewhat last minute. It was really well received. It’s just a fun time of year and something close to home to offer people.
“We just kind of amped it up a little for this year and then kept the same vibe,” Veletean said.

Shop more than 40 small businesses
This year’s Autumn in the Village boasts more than 40 small businesses for attendees to browse and shop, including Wyatt’s Pumpkins.
“He’s a young entrepreneur of ours and he does his own homegrown pumpkins,” Veletean said. “He’ll have his stackable and carving pumpkins, which he specializes in, available.”
Route 99 Barbeque will be the featured food truck Oct. 13. Mimi’s Sugar Babes will be serving coffee and donuts. The free event also includes live music performed by Tyler Boggs from noon to 3 p.m.
Veletean said Dawn’s Delights Sweets & Treats will also be in attendance, serving funnel cakes, ice cream and desserts.
A full list of the 40-plus vendors can be found on Village Roots’ Facebook page.
Held rain or shine, the free, open to the public gathering will offer a free bounce house, photo ops for families and friends, as well as Gary Risner’s artifact exhibit.
Several free kids activities are planned, including pumpkin ring toss, apple tic-tac-toe, apple stamping, pumpkin bowling and paint-a-pumpkin.
