SHELBY –— The Shelby Area Democratic Club will be hosting a “Meet Our Candidates” night on Sept. 19, beginning at 7 p.m. at the First United Church of Christ, located at 23 Church Street in Shelby.
The community will have the opportunity to hear from several of the Democratic candidates on the Nov. 5 ballot along with hearing about Issue 1, the anti-gerrymandering initiative.
Four of the candidates are running for office in Richland County. Aaron Williams is running for Richland County Commissioner.
Chris Adams is running for Richland County Clerk of Courts.
Bart Hamilton is running for Richland County Treasurer and Emily Adams is running for State Representative, 76th District, which is all of Richland County.
The other candidates there will be Kathy Salem, running for State Senate, 22nd District which includes Richland, Ashland, and Medina counties; Tamie Wilson who is running to represent the 4th Congressional District which encompasses several counties including Richland; and Justice Michael Donnelly who is running for re-election to his seat on the Ohio Supreme Court.
Catherine Turcer, from Citizens Not Politicians, will also be there to answer questions about the anti-gerrymandering ballot initiative, Issue 1.
Each candidate will be given 10 minutes to speak and answer questions. Refreshments will be provided. All people of good will are invited to attend.
