This is Part Two of the “Inspire. Connect. Thrive.” series, brought to you by Renaissance Performing Arts. This week, we’re featuring Brian Schmidt of Schmidt Security Pro.
In a world that often feels disconnected, the power of connection cannot be understated. It’s through our relationships, shared experiences, and collective efforts that we build the strong, vibrant communities we call home. At the Renaissance Performing Arts Association, we know that connection is at the heart of everything we do. As a non-profit, nothing at the Ren is possible without the hard work of many people coming together. These connections, from staff to volunteers to actors to musicians, create a community where friendships are forged, passions are discovered, and a sense of belonging is found.
Brian’s Story: The Power of Connection
Allow us to introduce you to Brian Schmidt, President of Schmidt Security Pro, whose life story beautifully illustrates the impact of connections created through the Renaissance Theatre. As a young boy growing up in Mansfield, Brian was introduced to the magic of the arts through the Ren. One of his most cherished memories is an unforgettable encounter with the legendary Johnny Cash during a visit to the theatre. That moment, along with countless others experienced at the Ren, ignited a lifelong passion for the arts within Brian—a passion that he now shares with his own children.
The connections Brian formed through these early encounters with the arts have profoundly impacted his life, both personally and professionally. The sense of community and belonging he found at the Ren has shaped his values and approach to life, fueling his commitment to supporting the arts and fostering connections within his own company and the broader community. For Brian, the Renaissance Theatre is more than just a venue; it’s a place where relationships are built, creativity is nurtured, and the community comes together to celebrate the arts and create memories together.
The Renaissance: A Hub for Connection
Perhaps as you’re reading this, you are able to imagine a time when you sat in a seat at the Renaissance Theatre with people you love and enjoyed the power of performing arts right here in our community. Or maybe you have not had an opportunity to attend an event at the Ren before. No matter which position you find yourself in, we invite you to join us and create a new memory this season.
At the Renaissance, we believe that the arts are a cornerstone of community connection. Through our diverse programming, we bring people together, creating shared experiences that build bonds and foster a sense of belonging. Whether it’s attending a riveting theatre production, participating in a workshop, or enjoying a concert, the Ren provides countless opportunities for individuals to connect with each other and with the transformative power of the arts.
But our commitment to connection goes beyond just the performances and events we host. It’s about the relationships that are formed behind the scenes—among our dedicated staff, our passionate volunteers, and the talented artists who bring our productions to life. These connections are the lifeblood of the Renaissance, enabling us to create the enriching experiences that our community has come to cherish.
The Ren is a place where friendships are forged, where love for the arts blossoms, and where everyone—no matter their background or experience—can find a sense of belonging. We take pride in being a hub for connection, and we are grateful for the many people who come together to make our work possible.
Get Involved: Be a Part of the Connection
The connections that make the Renaissance Theatre such a special place are only possible because of the people who support us. Whether you’re attending a show, volunteering your time, or making a financial contribution, your involvement helps to strengthen the ties that bind our community together.
We invite you to join us in building and nurturing these connections. Together, we can continue to create a community where everyone feels connected, valued, and inspired by the arts.
