James Ellsworth “Smoke” Reid 84, of Mansfield went to meet the Lord on July 4 at OSU East, Columbus.
James was born October 22, 1939 in Mansfield Ohio to Richard “Elic” Reid and Mildred “Banty” (Hamrick) Reid. James married Roberta “Bobbi” Yarman on April 22, 1967.
James is survived by his wife Bobbi; daughters Mindy Dyer (Doug Gray), Jamie (Mike) Jaynes, and Michelle (Terry) Kniceley, his dog Festus; siblings Carol Ann (John) Stefan and Ronald Reid; 12 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws Russell (Vivian) Yarman and Mary Yarman, sons Steven and Gregory Layfield, sister Shirley “Sug” Calhoon, brothers Richard “Dick” Reid, Donald Reid, and Randall Reid, granddaughter Brooke Jaynes, and great-grandson Cashton Ackerman.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 24 at Noon with a Memorial Service following at 1 PM at Main Global Church, 230 S. Main St. Mansfield with Pastor James Watkins officiating. Burial at Lantz Cemetery at a later date.
