Craig A. Wagner, age 73, died peacefully surrounded by family on June 21, 2024, at his home.

A lifetime resident of Mansfield, Mr. Wagner was born November 15, 1950, to Walter Henry Wagner and Hylda Louise (Favre) Wagner. He was a graduate of Madison High School. The Wagner family established Wagner Bros Heating and Sheet Metal Co. which operated on Hedges Street in 1920. Mr. Wagner started working for his father at the age of 12 and continued to operate Wagner Heating and Cooling until April 2024.

No one who met Craig forgot his infectious passion for helping others. He had a determined love for fixing all things and had numerous friends who counted on him. His guidance was a gift. Craig enjoyed spending time with family, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who loved to tease. Traveling west on his cycle with family and friends, campfires and dinners with children and grandchildren, golfing, and Sunday cycle rides to Butler were among his numerous pursuits of happiness. He was an avid NRA member and enjoyed collecting guns.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Hylda Wagner; brother, Tom Wagner; nephew, Matthew Wagner; niece, Tammi (Weber) Shifflet; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Shirley Gerhart; and close brother-in-law, Brian Gerhart.

He is survived by his spouse of 46 years, Vickie (Gerhart) Wagner; daughter, Nicole Wagner and grandson, Jordan Rockhold; daughter, Lindsay Jordan and her husband Brock; grandchildren Logan, Cruz, and Piper; son Derek Wagner and wife Kristen; grandchildren Kenton, Wrenley, and Waylon; sister Carol (Bob) Vinson; sister Deb (Bob) Weber; brother Wes (Sue) Wagner; fostered daughter Rachel Wolfgang; grandsons Taylor and Mason; numerous nieces and nephews; and an amazing group of friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2024, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield.
