Maria John, 80, of Mansfield, died at 12:10 am, Jan. 21, 2016 at Crystal Care Nursing Home in Mansfield.
She was born July 16, 1935 in Reghin, Romania, to Mathias and Maria Huprich.
In 1956 she immigrated with family to the United States where she married her fiancé, Rudy, on Feb. 23, 1957 in Wayne, Pennsylvania.
The family moved to Mansfield, where she worked as a professional seamstress, also becoming involved at the Mansfield Liederkranz serving as an officer of the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed arts, crafts, sewing, bowling, and dancing with the Senior Dance Group.
Survivors include her husband, Rudy John; one son, Robert (Renee) John, of Mansfield, Ohio; two brothers, Mathias (Elizabeth) Huprich, of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, and Johann (Maria) Huprich, of Mansfield Ohio; five grandchildren, Heidi, Andrea, Christian, Kayla, and Kyle; five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Rudy John; and one brother, Walter Huprich.
A private memorial service has been held. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to have served the family.
