John “Jack” Teschler, 87, of Mansfield, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Mansfield Memorial Homes. Born May 17, 1933 in Mansfield, he was the son of John Steve and Helen Gertrude (Lutz) Teschler.
John was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a very hard worker retiring at the age of 80. He worked for Dominion Electric, Westinghouse for 17 years and Snow Trails for 25 years from which he retired. He attended Cornerstone Grace Brethren Church and enjoyed camping. He was a talented artist and did a lot of painting and stained glass work. He also enjoyed refinishing furniture but his greatest enjoyment was being around his grandchildren and great grandchildren who lovingly called him Poppy.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sharon (Leach) Teschler; his son, Larry (Janet) Teschler; his daughter, Brenda Teschler; his step son, Phillip “Cork” Blackford; his step daughter, Shelley Blackford; his grandson, Isaac Blackford; his granddaughter, Kristi Wilson; his great grandchildren, Zaine, Breiana, Jayden, Gabby and Jace.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private services will be held for the family with burial in Little Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mansfield Salvation Army.
