PLYMOUTH — Only half of Plymouth is in Richland County — the other half resides in Huron County.
The line of demarcation runs down Ohio 603 through the middle of downtown.
This photo captures the Richland border, looking down South Plymouth Street. As far as we can remember it has always been a friendly border crossing, with people free to come and go across the line without a passport, birth certificate or enhanced driver’s license.
You don’t have to declare what you bought across the street.
As you can see, not a great deal has changed in the streetscape during the last 120 years, although they have paved the border.
