One of Mansfield’s largest family medicine practices is joining MedCentral Health System.
Daniel Burwell, D.O., and Annette Welker, Certified Nurse Practitioner, are bringing several thousand patients from their Richland Family Practice to the fold. It is located in the Parkside Medical Building at 680 Park Avenue West.
“We’ve been thinking about joining MedCentral for a long time. We think it’s best for our patients, our staff and the community,” said Dr. Burwell, who earned his medical degree from The Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1988. He began practicing in Mansfield in 1991, right out of his residency at Doctor’s Hospital in Columbus.
Welker, a Mansfield native, worked in Mansfield General Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit from 1987 to 1988. She then spent 20 years working for OhioHealth.
Eventually, Dr. Burwell and Welker, who has been with the practice for six years, would like to add another physician and perhaps two other nurse practitioners to the practice. The current office staff consists of four full-time and six part-time employees, including two registered nurses and two medical assistants.
