GALION, Ohio — Connections Weekend, an event of the Galion Alumni Association, is this weekend, Oct. 8-10. The event is designed to bring current and former students of the Galion City Schools together to showcase opportunities and celebrate the successes of former students.

It provides an opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of Galion graduates that have gone on to provide outstanding performance in their work endeavors and in their communities. This event is designed not only to bring back former students, but to involve the community at large in the educational opportunities available through the Galion City Schools.

Below is the weekend schedule:

Thursday, Oct. 8: Pep Rally from 6 to 8 p.m., including a bonfire and the GHS and Alumni Bands.

Friday, Oct. 9: Career Day where returning Alumni share their success stories along with advice on careers. Also on Friday evening is the homecoming game at Unckrich Stadium. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 10: Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast held at the Galion Intermediate School from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday evening features the Alumni Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony in the Middle School Cafe. Doors open at 6 p.m.

This year’s Hall of Fame inductees include Robert Morgan, Class of 1955; Dr. Stanley Grogg, Class of 1963; John Williams, Class of 1965; Shawn Mateer, Class of 1976; Scott Reynolds, Class of 1976; Gary Frankhouse, Class of 1989; and Dave Spraw, 1966.
