ASHLAND — A Mansfield couple has welcomed the first baby born in Ashland County in 2021.
Jack Andreas Green was born at 8:23 a.m. Monday at UH Samaritan Medical Center to parents, Savannah Stinehour and James Green.
Baby Jack weighed in at 5 pounds, 10 ounces and measured 18 inches long.
“He’s doing great. He’s just small, so we’ve had to monitor him,” Stinehour said.
Jack looks like his dad. His hair is a mix of brown-red and blonde, and he currently has dark blue eyes.
He was born via a planned c-section at 39 weeks.
The hospital staff announced that Jack was the first baby of the new year after he was born.
“I was in the hospital the week before, and they mentioned it was possible, but I just assumed it wouldn’t happen because this was planned for the fourth,” Stinehour said.
Jack’s parents look forward to taking him home later this week.
“Hopefully he sleeps,” Green said.
Jack’s sister Oliva, who is almost 2 years old, did not sleep well as a baby.
“I hope he just continues to be happy and healthy,” Stinehour said.
