Bertha W. Pfleiderer, 85, of Galion passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at home unexpectedly after a short illness lovingly surrounded by family.
Born September 20, 1929 in Fentress County, Tenn., the daughter of Joe and Tilda (Cook) Beaty, she was the oldest of 17 children. Bertha married Richard W. Pfleiderer on April 10, 1948 and they enjoyed nearly 54 years together until his passing on March 14, 2002.
She moved to Galion in 1946 where she worked as a seamstress for the former Stratbury Manufacturing Company and worked hard on the farm with her husband Richard. Bertha was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Crestline. She was a devoted wife, mom and grandma. Her quick witted sense of humor with be missed.
She is survived by children Ruth Ann (Fred) Pasheilich of Lexington, Linda (Tom) Cowen of Galion, Garry (Karen) Pfleiderer of Galion and Sherrie (Jerry Cotsmire) Pfleiderer of Crestline; grandchildren Lori (Brad) Ross, Steve (Jennifer) Pasheilich, Michael Johnson, Kelly Small, Brittany (Jason) Bland, Sarah (Andy) Creswell and John (Leslie) Cowen; 18 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by infant daughter Sharon Kay Pfleiderer.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 17, with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Galion.
