Mary E. Sheaks, 92, of Bucyrus, went to be with her Lord and Savior June 14, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born March 25, 1923 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Clarence and Wilda (Cleveland) Stinehelfer. She married Carl Sheaks on April 25, 1943 who preceded her on March 30, 1996.

Mary was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Crestline. Although she could not attend church services she was visited frequently by church members who shared her love of God through Christian fellowship. She was best known for her excellent culinary skills. Her mouthwatering homemade bread, biscuts and cinnamon rolls were second to none and enjoyed by family and friends alike. 

She is survived by daughter Nancy and son-in-law Edward Ardolino of Baltimore, Md.; son John Sheaks of Bucyrus; grandchildren Heather (Alan) Alfrey of Galion, Robert Newell of Westminister, Md. and Kathleen Newell of Baltimore, Md.; great-grandchildren Zachary, Kylie, Chloe, Cameron and Carly and sister Shirley Meinzer of Galion.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by daughter Carla (Jan) Pfeifer, one sister and one brother.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015 Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2015 with Pastor Becky Weamer officiating. Burial will follow in Iberia Cemetery.
