MANSFIELD — Adena Corporation has announced an agreement to acquire Quandel Construction Group’s Ohio operation.

The acquisition supports both organization’s strategic plans for future corporate growth and provides Adena the ability to add to its existing team in central Ohio. The effective date is Jan. 1, 2019.

“This acquisition positions Adena Corporation for continued success in central Ohio and beyond. Building off of the Quandel Ohio team’s expertise and Adena’s self-perform capabilities, we are enhancing our ability to meet the needs of our partners in all markets we serve,” said Randy A. Payne, Adena Corporation’s president and chief executive officer. “We are excited to welcome Quandel’s Ohio team to our organization.”

Joe Mastrippolito, Quandel Enterprises’ president and chief operating officer, said his company has been operating in central Ohio since 1995, specializing in the K-12, Higher Education and Healthcare Construction markets, completing many successful projects.

“Quandel has decided to focus on our business closer to our headquarters in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Baltimore, Maryland geographies,” Mastrippolito said.

Adena Corporation, established in 1982, is a construction management and general contracting firm based in Mansfield, with regional offices in Columbus and Lakeland, Florida. In addition to construction management and design-build services, Adena specializes in self-performing concrete, masonry, steel erection, structural steel fabrication, rough carpentry and finish carpentry.

With the acquisition, Adena will expand their current Special Projects Group to the central Ohio area to serve that marketplace.
