SHELBY — Students from Richland, Ashland and Crawford counties were among the Pioneer Career and Technology representatives to attend the SkillsUSA fall leadership conference Nov. 8 and 9 in Columbus.

In attendance was Pioneer’s Regional Officer Candidate Mirka Lopez-Andrade (Willard, Graphic Arts), the Local Leadership Team of Gianna Cannavaro (Plymouth, Graphic Arts), Emily Chavatzas (Bucyrus, Criminal Justice), Brendan Damron (Galion, Homeland Security), Rowan Goble (Ashland, Graphic Arts), Autumn Pilo (Colonel Crawford, Graphic Arts), Stacy Reyes (Willard, Graphic Arts), Cheyenne Tackett (Willard, Graphic Arts), and Nethaniel White (Lexington, Graphic Arts).

Also traveling were the Local Delegate Team of Ecco Bosworth (Galion, Graphic Arts), Alivia Channing (Plymouth, Graphic Arts), Michael Collins (Plymouth, Graphic Arts), Timothy Crawford (Galion, Media Communications), Chloe Klepatzki (Galion, Graphic Arts), and Matthew Stevens (Crestview, Graphic Arts). 

At this event, students learned more about SkillsUSA, experienced dynamic speaker sessions, strengthened their leadership qualities, and had fun meeting student-leaders from around the state.

Additionally, the Local Officer Team for the Pioneer Chapter of SkillsUSA was elected at this event. The officers-elect for the 2018-2019 school year include Pioneer SkillsUSA officers president Alivia Channing, vice president Michael Collins, secretary Chloe Kelpatzki, treasurer Rowan Goble, reporter Emily Chavatzas, historian Timothy Crawford, and parliamentarian Brenden Damron.
