Colleen Vanasdale, 88, of Mansfield, died Saturday, May 9, 2015 at OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield. Born August 28, 1926 in Clendenin, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Frank and Eula (Shomo) Allen.

She graduated from Clendenin High School and retired from Therm-O-Disc. She loved playing Bingo and cheering on the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She is survived by three daughters, Krista (Peter) Richter of Lutz, Florida, Connie (Ray) Carroll of Mansfield and Cathy (Ted) Rapp of Perrysburg; a son, Bill Vanasdale of Tucson, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Christopher (Tressa) Rapp, Michelle (David) Mast, Shannon (Tina) Carroll, Jason (Mary Jane) Carroll, Justin Carroll, Megan Carroll and Ben Vanasdale; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Pfahler of Galion; a brother, Robert Allen of Massachusetts; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and very good friends at Liberty Nursing Home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Vanasdale; a son, David Vanasdale; two sisters; and five brothers.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Private graveside services will be held in Ashland County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
