Bonnie J. Cains, 55, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday morning, July 9, 2017. She was born April 17, 1962, in Barnesville, Ohio.
Bonnie was caring, loving and a little bit stubborn. She was fiercely protective of her family and enjoyed hosting family dinners for any occasion, but especially enjoyed hosting Thanksgiving.
Her strong faith in Christ brought her much peace and she enjoyed meeting regularly with a group of ladies from church for prayer and Bible study. She held numerous jobs including manager at KFC, STNA at Mansfield Memorial Homes and private home care.
She is survived by her five children, David Cains, Lester Cains Jr., Mark (Amanda) Cains, Tina (Dathan) Williams and Andrew Cains; her significant other, Robert Hardin; two step-children, Susan (Thomas) Jackson and Michael Hardin; mother, Frances Imogene Miller Smithberger; three siblings, Katherine (Ahab) Cates, Jake Smithberger and Sue Smithberger; and a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her father, John Elwood Smithberger Sr., and one child, Leonard Smithberger.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. A funeral service conducted by Pastor E. Renea Collins will follow immediately at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
