MADISON TOWNSHIP – Authorities are investigating a bomb threat found Thursday afternoon at Madison Comprehensive High School after the end of the school day.

Richland County Sheriff’s Office Major Joe Masi said a note was found on a bathroom stall inside the school threatening to blow up the school.

A student took a photo of the message and showed it to a teacher, according to a Sheriff’s Office incident report.

According to Masi, by the time the note was found, the time indicated in the note had already passed.

As a precaution, authorities searched the school and found nothing suspicious.

A report was prepared for a charge of inducing panic but it is unknown at this time who left the note or when it was written.

This is the second incident at Madison schools this year. In January, Larissa Elias, 18, was arrested for inducing panic after making a bomb threat. Elias was charged with inducing panic, a second degree felony.
