MANSFIELD — St. Peter’s traditional Homecoming game was played before a strong crowd Friday night at the Franciscan Activity Center.
The fourth-ranked boys basketball team took care of business as usual, dismissing Kidron Central Christian 77-41. Jarred Jakubick and Elijah Cobb led the way with 21 points apiece.
But there was more pageantry surrounding the event, that featured a jungle theme.
The recognition ceremony took place between the varsity and junior varsity games to honor the 2017 Homecoming Court. This tradition dates to 1959 at St. Peter’s, which organizes Homecoming festivities during basketball season.
Congratulations are in order for the senior class young ladies and gentlemen who were elected by their classmates for Homecoming Court 2017.
Homecoming Queen Caroline Blunk was escorted by Homecoming King James Rall.
Marrin Eighinger was escorted by Nathan Freshwater.
Sophia Naumoff was escorted by Tyson Kent.
Ava Cobb was escorted by Tanner Charette.
Autumn Scodova was escorted by Francisco Diaz.
