Don Kocher

Don Kocher, 77 of Galion passed away Thursday morning, April 2, 2015 at his home.

He was born January 27, 1938 in Crestline and was the son of Herbert and Hazel (Johnson) Kocher. Don is survived by his wife of 57 years, Landa L. (Kalb) Kocher who he married on March 23, 1958.

Don was a 1956 graduate of Galion High School and farmed his entire life. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ and the Loyal Order of Moose 303, both of Galion. Don was a hard working family man who loved playing cards and other games with his family. He enjoyed the Pandora dances of years ago and the vacations to Florida.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jeff (Lori) Kocher and Rick Kocher all of Galion, Lou (Duke) Newell of Powell; his extended family of children, Chuck, Jeff, Bob, Scott Zeisler and Sharon (Zeisler) Duffner and his seven grandchildren, Tyler, Meghan, Kyle, Shane, Whitney Kocher, Emily and Erica Newell.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Kocher.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday with Deacon Greg Kirk officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
