RICHLAND COUNTY, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Transportation has released their weekly update of road closings and delays for the week of April 20.
Ashland County
State Route 39
State Route 39, between the Richland County line and state Route 95, is closed for the replacement of six culverts. The detour route for westbound motorists is state Route 39 to state Route 95, west on state Route 95 to state Route 603, north on state Route 603 to state Route 39, and reverse for eastbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen May 22.
State Route 89
State Route 89, from just south of County Road 800 to Middle Street in the village of Polk, is closed for a sewer replacement project. The detour route for northbound motorists is state Route 89 to state Route 302, west on state Route 302 to state Route 58, north on state Route 58 to state Route 89, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on April 24; however, all work is weather dependent.
State Route 89
State Route 89, at its bridge over Interstate 71 in Perry Township, is closed for a bridge replacement project. The detour route for southbound motorists is state Route 89 to US Route 42, south on US 42 to US Route 250, east on US 250 to state Route 89, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on July 31, 2015.
State Route 511
State Route 511 between US Route 224 and State Route 302 is closed for the replacement of five culverts. The detour route for northbound motorists is state Route 511 to state Route 302, west on state Route 302 to US Route 250, northwest on US 250 to State Route 60, north on state Route 60 to US 224, east on US 224 to state Route 511, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen April 24.
Crawford County
State Route 98
State Route 98 will close Monday, April 20 for the replacement of two culverts in Auburn Township. The first closure will be at the intersection of state Route 98 and Baker Road, which will also close Baker Road. The second location will be just south of state Route 598, and that will close upon the reopening of the first culvert. The detour route for northbound motorists is state Route 98 to State Route 39, east on state Route 39 to state Route 598, north on state Route 598 to state Route 98, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road will reopen May 8.
State Route 294
State Route 294, just west of Monnett Road in Dallas Township, is closed for railroad crossing repairs. The detour route for eastbound motorists is state Route 294 to state Route 4, north on state Route 4 to West Beal Avenue, east on West Beal Avenue to State Route 98, south on state Route 98 to state Route 294, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen April 22.
Scott Road
Scott Road (Township Road 50), between State Route 103 and Lauden Road, is closed for a bridge replacement project. The detour route for eastbound motorists is Scott Road to state Route 103, south on state Route 103 to Kenestrick Road, east on Kenestric Road to Lauden Road, north on Lauden Road to Scott Road, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen May 28.
Richland County
State Route 603
State Route 603, between state Route 13 and state Route 61, is closed for the replacement of 11 culverts. The detour route for northbound motorists is state Route 603 to state Route 13, north on state Route 13 to US Route 224, west on US 224 to state Route 61, south on state Route 61 to state Route 603. The detour route for southbound motorists is state Route 603 to state Route 61, south on state Route 61 to state Route 96, east on state Route 96 to state Route 13, north on state Route 13 to state Route 603. The road is expected to reopen May 20; however, all work is weather dependent.
County Road 303
Pleasant Valley Road (County Road 303) is closed for a bridge replacement just east of Hasting Newville Road. Pleasant Valley Road is also closed just east of Moffett Road for a bridge replacement. The detour route for eastbound motorists is Pleasant Valley Road to Hasting Newville Road, south on Hasting Newville Road to Swigart Road, southeast on Swigart Road to Opossum Run Road, east on Opossum Run Road to state Route 95, northeast on state Route 95 to state Route 603, north on state Route 603 to Pleasant Valley Road, and reverse for westbound motorists. Both bridges are expected to be complete with the road open to traffic in early June.
