Edith Leora (Seamour) Cyrus, 94, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015. Edith was born on December 11, 1920, in Fort Gay, West Virginia, to Ed and Elizabeth Seamour.

She married Mont V. Cyrus on May 31, 1942, and began a life filled with the joy and happiness of marriage and children. She worked at Mansfield Plating when her three children were younger. In later years, she worked at Port-A-Cook. Growing up in a family of 13, she learned early on how to get along with others. Edith never met a stranger and enjoyed going to flea markets and garage sales, making small talk with all the other shoppers. Edith loved her family dearly and especially looked forward to the family reunions at her brother Joe’s farm.

She was proud of her gardens-both flower and vegetable-and canned many vegetables over the years. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting.

She is survived by three children, C. Douglas (Karen) Cyrus, Gary (Linda) Cyrus and Diann (Norman) Rust; nine grandchildren, Tammy (David) Helms, Billy Miller, Jr., Candy Barille, S. Douglas Cyrus, Steven (Stephanie) Cyrus, Brad (Amber) Cyrus, Holly (Jason) Stoots, John Rust and Tammie Sears; seventeen great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Ed (Mae) Seamour, Joe (Camilla) Seamour; four sisters, Freida Kohler, Emma Mullins, Lee (Frank) Curley and Virginia Smith; her special friend, Benny Young; and many special and wonderful nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Mont Cyrus; parents; sister, Betty Formich, Stella Laipply, Audrey Grassick and Libby Hubbard; and one great-grandchild, Kodi Rust.

The family invites everyone to celebrate the life of Edith on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road.
