MANSFIELD, Ohio — The Richland County Safe Communities Coalition reports that for the month of January there was one traffic death in Richland County.
There were 12 total traffic–related fatalities for all of 2014 and two traffic deaths in January of 2013 and 2014.

According to the Federal Highway Administration’s comprehensive costs for traffic fatalities, each fatality has a comprehensive cost of $1.4 million associated with it. The one fatality this year cost Richland County $1.4 million.
