Phyllis I. Ricker, 64, of Galion went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ, Wednesday morning, February 25, 2015 at her home unexpectedly.
Born October 10, 1950, in Galion, she was the daughter of the late Carroll and Virginia (Meek) Mann. She married Thomas A. Ricker on February 14, 1972 and he survives.
Phyllis was a graduate of Galion High School in 1968 and was the Weekday Religious Education Teacher for twenty years. She was a very active member of Grace Brethren Church, participating in the women’s ministries, playing the piano and teaching Vacation Bible School at church for many years.
Phyllis enjoyed the swimming exercise classes at the Galion Community Center-YMCA. She enjoyed gardening and was a previous member of the Galion Garden Club. She also enjoyed meeting with a ladies group in the mornings for sharing and Bible study. Phyllis’s passion and faith showed in her sharing of the Gospel to all children and especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Thomas H. (Janelle) Ricker of Washington, PA, P. Christine (Ron) Kostelnik of Galion and Ben D. (Erin) Ricker of Mansfield; her grandchildren, Kearsten, Megan and Matthew Kostelnik and Caleb, Natalie and Mackenzie Ricker; her brothers, Gaylord Mann of Akron and Randy (Diane) Mann of Galion.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2015 at Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833. Funeral services will be held at Grace Brethren Church, 1055 Winchester Road, Galion, Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Pennington and her son Pastor Thomas Ricker officiating. A private burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
