Salvation Army

MANSFIELD, Ohio – Families and individuals across Mansfield can always look to The Salvation Army for assistance and support. This holiday season however, The Salvation Army of Mansfield is in need of your help. Red Kettle giving this year is down.

The Salvation Army is relying on generous community donors to give 130 thousand dollars this year in kettle donations. Red Kettle Campaign proceeds provide food, youth education programs, utility assistance, disaster relief and other services year round to Mansfield area residents. “Kettles donations have been slow this year. The holiday season is by far the largest fundraising time of year for us. The donations we receive in December, provide services all year long,” says Captain Andy Betts. In fact, through generous community support last year, The Salvation Army was able to provide 15,000 hot meals, utility assistance to 300 families, 6,000 boxes of groceries and joy to over 600 kids with toys for Christmas.

“We want everyone to know that even the smallest donation adds up to big results. Anytime you see our kettle or hear the distinctive bell, know that you are giving to help your neighbors right here in our community,” noted Captain Betts. Kettles are located at Hobby Lobby, Kroger, Walmart and other area retailers.

In addition to donating to kettles, you can send a donation made out to The Salvation Army to 47 S. Main Street, Mansfield, OH 44902. Donations can also be made online at www.neo.savationarmy.org or by calling (216) 861-8185. For more information about services in our area, contact the Corps office at (419) 525-2912.
