BAUGHMAN TOWNSHIP – A Creston man died Tuesday after a two-vehicle crash in Baughman Township, according to the Wooster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Marcos M. Chable, 35, of Creston, was transported to Aultman Orrville Hospital and pronounced dead shortly after the incident, the Patrol stated in a press release.

The crash occurred at the intersection of State Route 57 (Wadsworth Road) and Township Road 221 (Fox Lake Road), within Baughman Township of Wayne County.

According to the Patrol, Justin A. Vodika, 43, of Orrville, was operating a 2013 Toyota Tacoma pickup. Vodika was traveling south on State Route 57 and was wearing a seatbelt at the time of crash.

Chable was operating a 2004 Jeep Liberty sport utility vehicle. Chable was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of crash, the Patrol reported.

The initial investigation revealed Chable was traveling west on Township Road 221 and failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection of State Route 57. Vodika was traveling south on State Route 57 when his vehicle struck Chable’s vehicle in the passenger side.

Both vehicles then traveled off the west side of the roadway on State Route 57 into a ditch.

Assisting on the scene were the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Orrville Police Department, Orrville Fire and EMS, Reed’s Towing, and the Wayne County Coroner Office.

Alcohol appears to be a factor involved in this incident, the Patrol stated.

At this time, the crash remains under investigation.

This is the first fatal crash within Wayne County this year.
