The weather was picture perfect, the fields were groomed, and the competition was fierce—sounds like AYSA tournament time! Located at Marshall Park in Ontario, field 4 was the site of an exciting tournament kick-off for Ontario’s U10A team coached by Carnes and St. Peter’s U10A team coached by Boyce. The Warriors came away with a victory after a hard fought game, ending in a 1-2 score.
Goals were scored by Noah Christy and Trey Booker for the Warriors and by Dante McGinty for the Spartans. Keepers, Sean Graff from Ontario and Angelo Gasper, from St. Peter’s both were challenged and tested during the competition. Great start to a competitive tournament. The Ontario team moves on to play Saturday as a much improved Spartan team begins to plan for indoor.
AYSA tournament games are taking place in five towns all around Richland county, for tournament schedule go to http://www.aysasoccer.org.
