Norma Jean Dorsey, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 27, 2021.  Norma was born March 29, 1932, to John and Sophia (Kulka) Bartoseski in Mansfield, Ohio.

She was a life-long member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.  She graduated from St. Peter’s High School in 1950.  She attended Mercy College of Nursing in Toledo, Ohio, where she earned her Degree as a Registered Nurse.  Spending her career at Mansfield General Hospital, she was a devoted and respected nurse, retiring in 1995.

Along with caring for her family and friends, she enjoyed gardening, golf, bowling, horse racing, travelling, and had a special place in her heart for nature and all animals.  Norma was active in the Mansfield Noon Lions Club, Feed the Needy, and local Boy Scout troops.

Norma is survived by her children Tom (Nancy) Dorsey, Cynthia Dorsey, Michael (Emily) Dorsey and Patrick (Dianne) Dorsey; grandchildren Michael (Colleen) Gong, Elizabeth Dorsey, and Catherine Dorsey; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband Thomas, whom she married on December 26, 1953; her brother Carl Barton; and her special aunt Florence Jocha.

Friends may call at Herlihy Funeral Home, 173 Park Avenue West, Tuesday from 4-7pm.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am Wednesday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Rev. Gregory Hite officiating.  Burial will follow at Mansfield Catholic Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church or the Humane Society of Richland County.
