Richland County Children Services 2012 annual report is available on the agency web site.

In 2012, RCCS received 7,501 calls from the community, investigated 2,860 reports of alleged abuse and/or neglect, served 504 families through ongoing family programs, closed the year with 61 youth in custody in 57 foster homes and finalized five adoptions.

Patricia Harrelson began her duties as the new executive director for Richland County Children Services earlier this year. In the report, Harrelson said  the work of a child welfare agency is labor intensive and requires a highly-skilled, well supervised team. “I want to reach out to our community, to thank you for your past, present and I hope future support,” she said.

She says she’s thankful for the agency’s staff members who dedicate themselves each day to protecting children and serving families in Richland County.

Print copies of the annual report can be obtained by e-mailing Carl Hunnell, the agency’s supervisor of public information and outreach, at hunnec@odjfs.state.oh.us. Copies are available at local community events in which the agency participates, including the upcoming Richland County Fair, Lexington Blueberry Festival and Bellville Street Fair.
