Alice A. Mills, 83, of Crestline, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2014 at Galion Community Hospital, Galion. She had been in declining health for the past year and a half.

Alice was born in Crestline on Nov. 14, 1930 to the late Lloyd and Josephine (Dahler) Page.  She eloped to marry Donald E. Mills on Oct. 31, 1948 and he preceded her in death on June 11, 1983.

Alice was baptized and grew up in the First English Lutheran Church, Crestline and remained a faithful member the rest of her life. Alice is now a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Crestline which she joined after the closing of First English Lutheran Church. She graduated from Crestline High School, class of 1948. Her life was defined by her giving. Alice volunteered with the Crestline area Red Cross for many years. She called individuals to set appointments for blood donations and worked the blood pressure clinics. Alice would see that the Crestline Fire Department had homemade meals. She supported many causes, especially the Crestline Police and Fire Departments. Alice was a member of the Crestline Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #859 and had served as their President.

She is survived by her two sons, Gary Mills, Sr. of Crestline, and John and Mary Mills of Crestline; her two daughters, Vickie Graves of Crestline, and Susan and Daryl Burchett of Hamilton; her ten grandchildren, Ben E. Graves, Chrissy Podolak, Jason and Shawna Mills, Todd Mills, Rev. Jeff Mills, Nicole Mills, Gary Mills, Jr., Becky Tarbert, Christopher Tarbert, and Matt Tarbert; several great-grandchildren; her two sisters-in-law, Ella Mae Page of Crestline, and Loretta Page of Crestline.

She was preceded in death by her son Richard Eugene Mills, and her brothers and sisters, Llewellyn (Lew) Page, Helen Mix, Ben Page, Thelma “Polly” Pulver, Emery “Short” Page, John Page, and Ethel Page.

Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Crestline, with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Rescue Road Warriors in care of the funeral home.
