ASHLAND – Upon completion of new siding on the Brookside Golf Course Clubhouse, Ashland High School golf coach Dan Priest and his golf team members volunteered to paint the trim and windows to finish the project.
They started painting on Saturday, May 30 and plan to finish on June 6.
The participating golf team members were Aiden Baker, senior; Ryan Frazee, senior; Tyler Sabo, junior; Aidan Chandler, sophomore; and Kamden Mowry, sophomore.
This Ashland Arrow golf team went to the State Playoffs last year and all of them have participated in the Brookside Junior Golf Program in the past.
The Friends of Brookside Golf Course have been working in cooperation with the Ashland City Mayor, the Ashland City Council, and the Brookside Management team to sustain and improve the golf course for the benefit of future generations of Ashland area golfers.
This work has been made possible by the generous support of our many sponsors and members.
The 2020 Junior Golf Program is scheduled to begin on Friday, June 5. This is the 48th year for the program.
It was started in 1973 by George Valentine, the golf professional at that time. It has been sustained by adult volunteers over the years and is currently under the guidance of Paul Dienstberger, a former high school teacher and coach.
