ASHLAND — The City of Ashland announced Tuesday that Brookside Pool will be open for the summer beginning Saturday, May 30, 2020 with limited hours.
Until further notice, the pool will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Governor Mike DeWine allowed pools to open by Tuesday, May 26, if they met guidelines set by the Ohio Department of Health.
“We had to delay a few days to get the pool set up per all the guidelines,” said parks and recreation director Jason Counts. “Now, we’re ready.”
On a typical year, the pool would have reopened prior to Memorial Day weekend.
For a limited time, annual passes can be purchased at the Brookside Pool front desk beginning May 30 at the pre-season rate.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the rules and regulations set forth by Gov. DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health, the following rules will be in place at Brookside Pool until further notice:

Stay home if you are sick or do not feel well.

Use social distancing guidelines and maintain at least six feet or more between individuals in all areas of the pool and deck whenever possible.

Swimmers should not stand, sit or otherwise block walkways or any identified narrow passage area.

Limited showers and lockers are available.

Encourage face covering when entering buildings or interacting in close proximity to other patrons and practice good personal hygiene including washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, using hand sanitizer, refraining from touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands, coughing and sneezing into an elbow, etc.
