MANSFIELD — Matt Finfgeld was elected Thursday evening to his fourth term as chair of the Richland County Democratic Party Central Committee.
The election came during a “virtual” re-organizational meeting of the local Democratic Party on Zoom.
The party also elected J.R. Rice as Central Committee vice chair, Venita Shoulders as secretary and Andy McGinity as treasurer.
The committee elected itself to the Richland County Democratic Executive Committee. The Executive Committee’s first act was to elect a Party Chairman.
Long-time county Democratic Party Chairman Joe Mudra, who had served in that capacity since 2003, is retiring. He nominated Perry Township trustee Larry Weirich as his replacement. Weirich was elected unanimously.
There were 58 precinct committee persons participating in the meeting.
