Miriam Garverick

Miriam Eileen Garverick, 86, of Mansfield passed away Wednesday morning, Aug. 6, 2014 in Winchester Terrace following a short illness.

She was born July 29, 1928 in Mansfield, the daughter of Harry and Vallie (Cramer) Hardin and was graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 1946.

On Sept. 16, 1951 she married Carlos A. Garverick who preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1977.

Miriam worked at Mansfield City Credit Union for many years and retired from All Prints Photo.

A lifelong area resident, she attended Grace Episcopal Church.

Miriam was appreciative of nature, especially flowers, and enjoyed spending time admiring the landscape at Kingwood Center. Along with her family, she spent many enjoyable days boating on the lake at Clear Fork Reservoir and watching the sunsets.

A devoted, wife, mother and grandmother, family meant everything to Miriam. She will be greatly missed by two sons and daughters-in-law David M. and Lisa Garverick of Ft. Pierce, Florida and Brian K. and Mary Garverick of Mansfield; four grandchildren Tyler Garverick of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Haley Garverick of Ft. Pierce, Florida, Lucas Garverick of Granby, Colorado, and Bradley Garverick of Mansfield. Also surviving are three siblings and their spouses Clifford and Maxine Hardin of Mansfield, Marge Starke of Bonita Springs, Florida, and Diane Clark of Mansfield, along with many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Janet Wirick.

Friends may call Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014 from 2-5 p.m. in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. The Rev. David Sipes will officiate and burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
