Margaret Jane Latimer, age 92, of Lakeland, Florida passed away Saturday morning, August 23, 2014 in Lakeland Regional Medical Center following a short illness.

She was born January 8, 1922 in Mansfield, Ohio to Joseph and Rose Kelley but was raised from infancy by Ben and Lela King of Richland County, Ohio. Margaret graduated from Union Local High School, where she was a cheerleader, in 1940.

On December 24, 1940 she married George W. Latimer, to whom she was married nearly 65 years before his death in 2005.

A homemaker, Margaret devoted her time to raising a family, hard work as a farm wife, and entertaining and traveling with friends. She was a member of Shenandoah Christian Church, and the Red Hat Society.

The mother of five children, she was preceded in death by a small son, John, in 1951. She is survived by son Paul Latimer of Lexington, Ohio, daughters and sons-in law Mary Ellen and Marshall Pruner of Mansfield, Ohio and Sandra and Duane Niebel of Brooksville, Fl, and by daughter Nancy Latimer of Lakeland, Fl.;11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 5 1/2 great, great grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her sister Gerry Ruffner of Shelby, Ohio.

A memorial service honoring Margaret will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home (formerly Finefrock Funeral Home). Pastor Jim Ford will officiate. Margaret will be buried with her husband and son at the Shenandoah Christian Church Cemetery.
