MANSFIELD — It was a pleasant surprise when the first child born in Mansfield this decade had a deep connection to the hospital in which she was born.
Sybil Subit, daughter of Dr. Michael and Rebekah Subit, arrived at 9:59 a.m. on Jan. 1.
“We’re excited to have a new kiddo,” said Michael, an OBGYN with women’s care at OhioHealth Hospital in Mansfield. “Delivery went well. Three-and-a-half hours; she pushed three times and she did awesome.”
The dad of two added his thanks to Arthur Wilson and the delivery team.
Sybil Anne Marie, named after Rebekah’s grandmother, weighs seven pounds, six ounces.
“My grandmother, Sybil, never had a middle name,” Rebekah said. “But if she did, she said she’d want it to be Marie. My other grandma was named Anna, my first name is Anna (But she goes by Rebekah) and my mother’s middle name is Anne. So it’s a pretty meaningful name.”
This is the second Subit child. Hudson, 3, is adjusting well to his new role as a big brother, Rebekah said.
The family was discharged at 10:30 a.m. Thursday to go home in Lexington.
