A crowded Nov. 5 ballot took shape Wednesday at 4 p.m. with the filing deadline for candidate nominating petitions and for tax issues and questions.
“The petitions have to be verified by our board and certified to the ballot at our next board meeting on Aug. 13,” said Paulette Hankins, director of the Richland County Board of Elections.
“We are still in the process of checking and verifying the last 10 or so petitions, which were filed late this afternoon, so we’re not sure if they will all meet the requirements at this point,” Hankins said.
The November election includes municipal candidates, village races and township elections, as well as school board races.
Here are the contested races for November around Richland County, according to information supplied by the elections board. The only candidates listed below are those who filed petitions by Wednesday’s 4 p.m. filing deadline.
